With the Commonwealth of Virginia moving into phrase 3 of re-opening, we are also revising some of our guidelines to match the changes. These changes are reflected below.

The health and safety of the members is our number one priority, and we discussed procedures that will be put into place to keep people as safe as possible. The link below contains the guidelines received from the County.

In phase 3 we can have 250 people per field, so we are allowing more people into the complex. We have also opened the dugouts, but only 5 people should be in the dugout at a time. As much as possible social distancing should be practiced at all times.

Bring your own water/gatorade if you want something to drink. No team water coolers. Also bring your own disinfectant/sanitizer if you desire; masks are optional. If you want a chair please bring your own and set it up outside the fence, practicing social distancing.

Early games will start at 6:30. Effective July 8 we will no longer be taking temperatures as you enter the complex. Players are asked to be respectful of others and stay home if you are not feeling well.

Games will be 50 minutes, and if tied when the time runs out will end in a tie. No extra inning will be played. The goal is get the early games finished between 8:10 and 8:15.

Once the early games end, players should pack their bags and leave the dugout area so the next teams can enter. We still want to practice the no post-game handshake guideline.

The county requires 30 minutes between games when there is a change of teams. Until that changes late games will continue to start at 8:45. The goal is for late games to finish between 10:25 and 10:30.

Rules related to SUBSTITUTES:

For clarity, here is the rule for substitutions. Each team has one player designated as their primary pitcher. If that player is unable to play, the team will be provided with a pitcher with a similar rating. If the number of players present drops below 10, then substitutes will be provided to bring the number present to 10 players (likewise to guarantee at least two women are present). If a team has their designated pitcher and at least 10 players of which at least 2 are women, then no substitutes will be provided. Missing a player at a position other than pitcher does not guarantee a substitute player will be provided. Coaches who will be missing their pitcher or who will be short players know the proper protocol for requesting substitutes.
